I don’t like social media. I’m on it because I have a small business although I have never gotten any clients from social media it is good for networking…I guess. I try not to be on social media much I have a system that I use on each platform and I stick to that system. Here are some weekly habits I do to grow my business on social media and beyond that you can use for yourself.
Send out an email weekly
I send an email every week to my newsletter. Right now I have a newsletter list of about 400-something people.
I usually write my emails on Sunday evenings and stick to a format: a quote, a blog post, my t-shirts, some talking points, and a question.
I use Flodesk for my newsletter but you can use whatever platform you want. I talked about that here.
I own my list so therefore I don’t have to rely on social media for everything. I do all my giveaways in there, all the juicy details of my life, and some funny shat.
Engage with others
Social media is supposed to be social.
On threads I write 5 times a day.
- My quote in the morning
- My agenda for the day
- Something from my business or a blog post
- Something else from my business or a blog post
- My thought for the night
I engage and jump into at least 5 conversations a day and then I’m out. My conversations go more viral than my actual posts…I hate that for me.
On Insta I have a format where I share the quote from thread, do my question and answer list (it’s a template I use to allow people to get to know me better) and then share other things I see throughout the day. On my feed I share photography things, my blog posts, and some randoms.
Pinterest I just got back on and I deleted LinkedIn. I also talk about my 5-minute rule here which can help.
Have a plan on social media of what you will post daily so that you can get in and get out.
Write on my blog
I write at least twice a week on my blog.
Business, Photography, with a touch of life.
My blog is SEO which helps people who search google find what they are looking for. Yes I know AI is taking over but for those who still like links to articles with information…here I am.
I have gotten clients via my blog (more than social).
Most questions people ask me can be found on my blog I just have to provide the link. If you don’t have a blog write on your substack or at least do something weekly that will enhance your business that has nothing to do with a blog. Maybe networking…..
