We are back and I had a topic for today but I saw a documentary last weekend that I had to put up instead. Welcome back to It’s Finally Friday where we talk all things movies, tea, podcasts, YouTube, etc. that I came across during the week and want to give my two cents on. If you missed last week’s post you can find it here. This week we are talking about sexual abuse so please be warned if anything triggers you do not read. Let’s get into it because it’s Finally Friday, Jan 19th, 2024.
So I was browsing HBO Max or Max as they call it now and saw something about photos and thought oh a documentary about photography. My ass didn’t read the caption (read the captions folks) so I started it and my jaw hit the floor. The documentary was called Great Photo, Lovely Life.
A granddaughter confronts her grandpa about his sexual abuse which he admits to and tries to put things together in her mind as to why and how did this happen. The fact that nothing happened to him is not surprising but my gawd the many people he hurt. He died a lonely death but how did this happen over and over again? He even sexually abused his own child and his other granddaughter and thinks nothing about it. His wife knew and did nothing to stop him or even try to leave him. The daughter had to practically make her leave him and I’m like ain’t no way imma be that loyal to a pedophile. He can go to hell. The fact that they called him grandpa I wouldn’t be calling him at all. He wouldn’t even be allowed to speak to me they can call me when he is dead so I can cremate his ass. It’s an interesting documentary and if you have Max make sure you watch it.
Top 3 of the week….
Top 3 other things to watch on Max
The Matthew Shepard Story: Hate crime still exists. I wish folks would leave others alone you don’t have to kill people just because you don’t like how they look or who they sleep with.
Home in a Heartbeat – I can’t find her show on Discovery (which is supposed to have some of the same shows) I hate that hat she wears but her show is fun and love her designs
When THe Levees Broke – I don’t like New Orleans…it just gave me eerie vibes last time I went which was for Mardi Gras a long time ago. The food was good though.
