Meet Conyers Photographer: Kita Bryant

Meet Conyers Photographer: Kita Bryant

East side of Atlanta is where I’ve called home for the past 10 years. We hate Panola Rd traffic, Stonecrest Mall sucks and we can get to Gwinnett and Mcdoungouh through back streets. There are no good food spots out here so if we want some great options we have to travel but it’s a great city to live in and raise a family. It’s also cheaper out here (at the time of this post) to live and if you love small towns with great old school friendly vibes without the hustle and bustle of Atlanta then this is the place to be. I have been doing photography for years and never coined myself as an Atlanta photographer because I rarely go down there. Most of my clients live right around me so I want to make sure for those who may not know me get to know me. Meet Conyers photographer Kita Bryant (that’s me)

How would you describe yourself?

I am a curator of memories and moments through a variety of mediums (shout out to Angela for this wording). I photograph memories and write about my life to help you with yours. I’ve made mistake and I don’t want you to make the same. I don’t know everything but what I do know I share and that is what my life and my business is all about.

What areas do you specialize in when it comes to photography?

I do everything except the small babies and weddings. I will do a small wedding if I know you personally but other than that I stay away from weddings for now. Never say never.

What challenges did you face when promoting your photography business outside of Atlanta?

None really. I’ve always been a believer that just like the bigger cities smaller towns need the same things. We don’t have a whole foods but that doesn’t mean we don’t want one. There are people who want certain things right where they live without having to travel so far. I have made sure to find a hairdresser near me or a baker near me. It’s good to have a local person along with others just in case you don’t want to travel.

When people say I don’t need a photographer I can get cousin Jonnny to do it. What do you say?

No problem Cousin Johnny will take pics and probably do a great job but will Cousin Johnny edit those pics? Will he be able to capture your story in a way that has people wanting to know more about the picture? Will he have a picture in that collection that makes others say wow. Will he give you a variety of poses? I think cousin Johnny will do a great job but when you get Kita you get me…I am not like others..ask my clients lol

What is your signature thing that people know you for?

I take photos that you didn’t know I took. My clients are always like when did you take that photo? I also have a way of telling your story through photos (and a little video) that makes you stand out from the crowd. I bring the you out of you if that makes sense.

What work-life balance do you have and how do you balance it?

There is no balance. I do what I can when I can. As I have gotten older I understand that I won’t be able to do it all and that is ok. It will get done just not in the time frame that I set aside. Because I have a reg day job I understand that nights and weekends are dedicated to my clients. I set that boundary and make it clear so that my clients pretty much know my schedule better than I do. This makes things so easy. I also have to have a calendar it’s a must to have. My preferred calendar is Artful Agenda. Use my code RK44458 to check them out.

Do you ever worry about competition?

No. No one is me. I am not like other photographers and I like that. I also know that what’s for me is for me. Nothing and no one stands in the way of what is already set in stone by God.

What is your personality like?

I’m funny so they say and I know how to have fun. My personality doesn’t match uptight folks as I like to have fun. We gonna laugh so if you aren’t that type then I may not be the photographer you. My clients know I will cuss them out as they will do me and I love having that type of personality and trait. It makes me more relatable and real vs so uptight like a robot.

Not all customers are perfect. Tell about the time you had a difficult client and how you handled that.

I pride myself on customer service. I have awards from other companies that highlight my customer service skills. I am customer service first. I don’t have difficult clients because I set the tone and control the business. Now we are human and things happen but so far I have never had a customer that I couldn’t handle or I didn’t do right by. Don’t let the business control you…control the business. I also don’t work with people who show me red flags in the beginning so maybe that has saved me from difficult clients *shrugs shoulders*.
