Your lifestyle checklist for the month of may

It’s May and I want to be more intentional here on my blog which I own. Yes, I’m a photographer but I’m also a writer and I want to write more because it’s something that I love. May back in the day was not a good month for me. When I was young there were a lot of bad things that happened in May so I always said May was my worst month of the year but as I got older May is just God’s way of slowing you down and telling you to listen and learn. It’s April Showers bring May flowers and God wants you to bloom more. So instead of May being a bad month for me it’s a month to bloom. Also, remember that even if it’s a bad day you have to find the good. So here is to a good May and here is your lifestyle checklist for the month of May.

May is the month of Graduation. My son will be the class of 2024 as he graduates from high school and start his adult life. I can’t believe I’m the mom to an adult child. I’m proud of him but even more proud of myself because I did the 2nd half of his life as a single parent and whew. This month make sure you celebrate those that are graduating. Get some gifts from Etsy, find out the person’s cashapp and send them some funds, take some time to tell the graduate that you are proud of them.

May is also the month of Mothers Day. I only want 3 things…a vacation to the beach, an iPad, and the Canon G7x. I had the camera but sold it like a dummy. Now I have to rebuy it. My kids are also getting me a dyson vacuum (shhhh I’m not supposed to know)

May is also 2 of my besties birthdays along with my late grandma, grandpa, and 2 aunts whom have passed away. I choose to remember them by getting some flowers delivered to me for each loved one that has passed and I’m giving both of my friends money cause we can all use that in some capacity.

Here are a few more things I’m doing this May…

  1. Reflect on my routine. Do something different daily and not do the same thing I do all the time. Go a different way to drop my daughter off to school, cook something besides taco on taco Tuesday, and maybe wake up at 6 instead of just getting the kids up.
  2. Perfect my mocktail creations. I am a huge mocktail girl as I don’t drink as much these days. This is one of my favorites that I’ve been doing.
  3. Look at my 2024 goals and change if I need to. My job like any job can let you go at any time I need to put a backup plan into place.
  4. Go on an ice cream date with each of my kids separately. Even though my son is grown it doesn’t mean he can’t get ice cream with his mom and we can talk about life. I am calling myself an advisor these days no longer the lecturing mom.
  5. Move more. I have a treadmill that collects dust but I will soon be getting braids and I plan on walking daily even if it’s in your house. Move!
