I read a post the other day from Carly (one of my favorite bloggers) about how blogs are making a comeback. It never left for me. I have been blogging or writing since 2010. I always loved that there was a place to write my thoughts down. I started with a blog called saywhatuwanna (hence the name of this category say what) and then went into itsreallykita.com (which I may be shutting down soon. I’ll grab a few articles on there and reword them but I plan on shutting that down from the public eye).
I like social media but it’s too up and down for me. Instagram always changing stuff now they charging like Twitter. I don’t even see my favorites anymore and all the old-school bloggers I started out with well they don’t blog anymore it’s all about social and if you didn’t know social can shut you down at anytime. The thing about blogging is that you won’t get shut down or lose your account. People are moving to substack (which I think is nice but why use another service when you can just write on your blog that you own with your name) and focusing a lot on their newsletter (which gets me most of my coins).
Now with AI or chat gpt it will be much easier to write a blog change up a few words and boom you have content that you can put on your website. This will make it even easier to have a blog. I will continue to write over here (not using AI because I want these in my voice) even if it’s short and straight to the point. I will also use social but my main things will be on this blog or my newsletter that way if social shuts down I still have a way to reach my audience.
Here are a few of my favorite blogs to read (I also use feedbin to collect all of my blogs and twitter folks. You do have to pay for it but it’s worth it)
