Hey y’all welcome back to my It’s Finally Friday series. I took a break from these internet streets last week to just sit still. I hope you all had a fabulous Thanksgiving holiday. If you are new here make sure you check out my last It’s Finally Friday post. This is where I break down an article, a youtube channel, movie, etc. and give my opinion on it plus my top 3 of the week. So I didn’t get to watch a lot of tv last week I was so busy editing photos (I’m a photographer also) but I did manage to catch one documentary and I want to talk about it today. Welcome to It’s Finally Friday, Dec 1st.
I was able to catch the Tyler Perry Documentary last week. I will say I’m not a huge fan of Tyler these days. His shows suck but he has had some good movies and his plays were so much better (wish he would bring that back). I just feel like he rushes shat too much and he needs to bring in some fresh eyes. He wants to control it all and he literally just can’t. Seeing the documentary I can kind of see why he does that. He is a true mama’s boy though and I finally saw how his father treated him and why he did so. You will have to watch the documentary to find out why his father beat his ass so much but I will say he is a good guy for still taking care of his so-called father despite it all.
I learned two lessons from this documentary. One don’t ever give up…like ever. I be wanting to give up on my t-shirt business so much but I just know one day it will take off and if it doesn’t it will lead me to the path that I’m supposed to be going. Nothing happens for no reason. The next lesson I learned is that it’s ok to not fit in. He never fit into Hollywood and doesn’t even try. He does his own thing his way and he makes his own money his way. Do it your way you don’t have to do what everyone else does. Step outside of the box that way they will always talk about you cause you ain’t like them.
Top 3 of the week…..
My favorite documentaries to watch
Won’t you be my neighbor
I am not your Negro
Bill Cunningham
An honorable mention is The Murdaugh Murders. I’m from Charleston….trust me when I say their family was brought down by one man….I’ve heard stories of them for years.
