Breathtaking Locations for Your Next Photoshoot in and around Atlanta

I know everyone wants to shoot in Atlanta on the bridge or on krog street in the tunnels but there are some places outside of Atlanta that are just as good to shoot at. Although most come with a fee it’s not too bad for what you get access to. I want to unveil some of my favorite breathtaking locations for your next photoshoot in and around Atlanta. All of the places I’ve named I’ve shot at before personally so you can take my word for it. If any of the links don’t work let me know and I’ll update ASAP. If you are a photographer or a content creator make sure you try at least one of these spots on the list.

  1. Prospect Farms – This is further out. I will say as a black photographer I felt a little like it was racist towards me the first time we went but so many of my clients shoot here that I had to get over it and ignore it but be aware if you go. I will say the last two times I’ve gone it was much better. They are strict with their time frame so be on time and you cannot shoot where you didn’t book. They book via Facebook for now but I do think you can DM on Instagram.
  2. Hazelhurst House -This is closer to where I live. I have shot here a few times. It is a fee but they have a beautiful garden and there is a tree with a swing that is gorgeous for shots with kids.
  3. Skye Light Studio – I just did a maternity here and headshots for an author. It’s gorgeous and the light is good. Parking is great too which is a plus.
  4. The Candler Hotel – One of my clients stayed here so we shot outside and in the lobby. They may not like that if you aren’t staying there so call or email before you go.
  5. Freeman’s Mill Park – They have a waterfall in the back that is gorgeous. You can even walk in the water a little to take photos. It’s far out but if you have a client that lives in Gwinett you may want to try them out it’s worth the drive and it’s free.
  6. The Carter Center – Free for now but gorgeous and one of my hidden spots that I normally don’t tell folks about. We don’t go inside but we shoot outside and the scenery is gorgeous.
  7. Delta Museum – Let’s say you are a travel influencer you may want to put this spot on your list. All you have to do is pay to get in and you can take photos. They do have some rules so make sure you check first but we paid and went right on in. Weekday in the morning was ideal it was empty and less crowded. They have some great spots to take photos.
  8. Cator Woolford – This used to be free all you had to do was donate but I think so many people used it they started charging. Still not a bad price and it’s a beauty.
  9. Nash FarmsSunset pics here…let me say I won’t take them anywhere else. Worth the drive but please bring mosquito spray because my gawd.

Here are some honorable mentions….

Ponce city market – go in the daytime when it’s less busy

Peerspace.com – Most are 2 hr rentals minimum so my suggestion is to shoot as much content as you can and maybe even split it with someone else.

Westside provisions district – there is a bridge back there that is nice

Rooftop of GA Tech building or any rooftop that you can find – Go evenings after work where it’s empty (the pic above is from that rooftop)

Buckhead village district

I tried to list places that didn’t cost an arm and a leg. Botanical garden and the High art you will pay. If you know of any other spots list them below in the comment section and I hope this list helped.
