What I love and hate about December

I’m back joining Marsha in the Middle for the 10 on the 10th can you believe it’s been a whole year of joining in and doing these great prompts. I do them because it brings back the old-school blogging that I loved when I first started blogging and I love that you all get to know me. Since it’s the end of the year I’m doing what I love and hate about December and the holidays for that matter.

I’ll start with what I hate and end with what I love kinda like give me the bad before the good.

I hate when folks look like they stand outside and throw Christmas Tree lights on the trees outside…it looks horrible

I don’t like gift exchanges. I stopped doing them years ago because they never got what I asked for so I gave up.

I am not fond of Turkey or greens it’s disgusting so I do themed dinners. This Holiday we are doing Hibachi.

Don’t like the cold….period.

I don’t like the grief that comes during the holidays. It’s hard not having your loved ones around during this time of the year.

Now on to the Good…

It’s my birthday Month (December 16th)

I love the smell of Christmas all through the house

I love to give my kids the gift of travel. I will enjoy it until they get their own family.

I love how people are extra nice during the holidays I wish they were like that year round

I love that I get to reset and think about what I did wrong for the year and what I did right and correct my mistakes.

First, Happy Birthday, Kita! I hope you have an amazing day! Do you have any big plans? Second, I don’t mind the trees as much as the sloppy job hanging the lights along the edges of the roof. If it’s not straight, it’s so noticeable. Oh, gift exchanges are not fun unless it’s someone who knows you inside and out. My bestie and I could do that and all would be good. I’m surrounded by my kids and grands during the time, but I do still miss my sister and brother who live a few hours away. My dad passed 50 years ago this year, and my mom has been gone for 20 years so that grief is a lot less. I know you have your own grief which must be so difficult during the holidays.

I love all of your “loves!” My kids are all in their 40s so I don’t give them the gift of travel though I’d sure like to travel with them! And, I love that you see the end of the year as a time to sit and take stock. I should probably do that, but I never think to do it.

Have a wonderful birthday and a blessed holiday season!
