Cutting unnecessary SPending

Cutting unnecessary SPending

Well, it’s 2024 and one of my goals is to cut spending down some. Doordash is killing me…why? I’m lazy as hell. How can one sandwich cost 30 bucks? I also threw away 5 computers. 2 were the hubs and one was my sons old computer but still 5 computers is ridiculous not to mention the clothes I gave away on top of the food that was thrown out. In 2023 I’ve probably wasted about 4k in just food and clothes and items I do not need. I just buy them because I want them but do I need them? So how am I cutting unnecessary spending in 2024? Here is how…

Only order doordash or eat out twice a week max unless something comes up. Sometimes life be lifing but we gonna try to eat what’s at home or buy freezer meals for the days that life says eff you. Twice a week spending out and more eating at home and also having leftovers. We ate leftovers a lot as a kid and my kids are funny acting like they don’t want leftovers so they will probably be eating a lot of cereal and oatmeal in their future.

Stick to a list. I can’t be going to Target and letting Target tell me what to buy. If it’s not on my list I can’t buy it. Matter of fact how about we do target drive up and avoid the store altogether. I think I will do that more. I don’t need another candle, nor decorative stuff or clothes. Also with Amazon, I’m only ordering from there twice a month. I will just add things to the Amazon cart and if it doesn’t go in the first round it will have to go into the second round or it won’t be bought….period.

Have fun at home. My daughter like to go out with her friends. I told her start inviting her friends to the house and I need to do the same. We can watch a movie, play games, make mocktails, make pizza, try a new dish…at home. I have to learn how to have fun at the house. My birthday this year since my friends live in different states we did a zoom birthday party and did things together at home with drinks. It was so much fun I must do it more often.

Make coffee at home. I usually do this because there is no Starbucks near me. It’s up the street but I have to go out of my way to have it. I have a good machine at home and I can buy the cold ones and make my own coffee at home.

Wait 48 hours to buy something and also see if I have something similar already at my house

Shop my own closet and mix and match clothes

Call bills and see if I can lower them (I did that with Terminex and my car insurance

What are you doing to cut bills or expenses for 2024?

DoorDash and UberEats are always so expensive. We tried UberEats one time, and because of how high it cost, we never did it again. Lol!

My two older kids used to get UberEats all of the time, with their own money. I tried to tell them it was too expensive. But they didn’t listen to me, and months later, they saw how much it hurt their bank account, so now they do it every once in a while. lol

Last year, my goal for cutting down on spending was to stop buying craft supplies in bulk because a lot of times, we ended up not using the supplies.

For 2024, I’d like to continue focusing on cutting back on clothing expenses by having a seasonal capsule wardrobe for me and my four little kids. I tried it last year, and it was successful! Saved so much money, and I bought the majority of our clothes at consignment, resale, and vintage shops.
