Frequently Asked Questions
Here are some facts about how I handle shoots.
I shoot in one-hour increments. Most shoots start at $100 an hour and vary depending on what you need, location, outfit changes, etc. I do not have a studio but know of several. I do not pay the studio fee so if you would like to work in a studio you will have to pay the fee associated with the studio. We can discuss the studio options via email but I primarily work outside in natural light.
Deposits + How do I pay
I do not require a deposit. If you can’t show up or I can’t show up I expect us to have that conversation before the shoot. I send you 3 photos from the shoot. If you like them then I will send you an invoice for the remaining photos to be sent. If you don’t like the style of the shoot or don’t like the photos I sent you can keep them to do what you want at no cost. I will not send you the pictures edited so please keep that in mind. It will be straight from the camera photo so that you can see an example of your shoot.
Rain
If it rains we can reschedule or find a spot that has shelter. I will always touch base with you 48 hours before the shoot date to confirm. If I do not get a confirmation the shoot will be canceled.
File delivery + Picture information
I will send the files within 10 business days. All files will be delivered via email or dropbox. As long as you keep the same email address you will have all of your files. I back up your files for up to 3 months and then it’s erased on my end so please make sure you make copies of your files, add them to dropbox, put them on a flash drive, etc. I send the best of the bunch. There is no cap on how many photos you get. If I take 60 photos and 30 come out good I will send all 30. Good meaning eyes not closed, something in the background that I didn’t see, blurry, etc. I do not do deep edits. I will not make you skinny or change the color of your hair or add a sky to the picture. Please keep in mind that I do basic edits only. I will also send you a jpg. Raw pictures will come at an extra cost and will come with some paperwork.
What is your photography style?
I like light and bright but love to play with other editing looks. I will always send you variations but stick with light and fun images. I’m not a boring photographer we will get boring shots but we will also have fun.
Do you travel?
Yes. I travel there is a fee involved if not within 40 miles of Decatur, GA. I travel to Charleston often so please keep up with me via my newsletter to see when I’m traveling there next. I also do shoots often in Macon, GA, and Athens, GA. Email me to see where I’ll be and a date.
Do you shoot weddings?
No, but….there is always a but if you are a regular client of mine and you are having a small wedding I will shoot it but in most cases, I don’t do weddings and babies.
What all do you shoot?
I mainly shoot families but headshots, bloggers, and seniors are a huge part of my offerings.
How do I book you?
Email. I ask that you send me at least 3 dates and times and I will coordinate with my schedule and book one. Please keep in mind that I don’t work on Sundays unless I’m doing a special or a mini session.
Do I have to sign a contract?
For now no but I may implement one in the future. Emails are the contract and in my mind, that is how we keep a “contract” on ourselves. I’m a small business with trusted clients I’m not here for all the extra stuff but it only takes one person to make that change. Please do not be that one person.
Do you share pictures that you take?
I will share pictures via my gallery and on my Instagram. I usually wait until you put a picture up and then I will share the picture that you like but from time to time I will share pictures of my clients for promotional use only.
What type of camera do you use?
I shoot with a Canon 5D mark 4. I have a backup 6D and may get that R6 if I win the lottery.
Do you have liability insurance?
Yes, I have it. It is required to shoot in a lot of venues.
Do you offer discounts?
Please sign up for my email. I am always doing free shoots throughout the year. The only way you will hear about them is if you sign up. There will be no other discounts.
Do you instruct for posing? I’m an introvert and it can be weird….
I’m an introvert also so I know how to shoot us. I do not do posed photos but will instruct you to turn here and there and will always check to see how the light moves. If I ask you to flip we will do that….(I’m joking)
How far in advance should I book you?
Give me at least a 2 weeks heads up. I don’t mind last-minute shoots but I need a few days to rearrange schedules.
Any tips on what to wear? Makeup? Kids?
Nope lol. I’m a sweats kind of girl. I don’t know what looks good and what doesn’t so please make sure you talk to someone who is an expert before you come to the shoot. Makeup is something else I don’t touch. I would get that professionally done. My camera picks up everything so please keep that in mind. As far as kids let them be kids. I will get the picture, trust me on that.
Do you have an MUA or stylist that you work with?
Yes. I have several that I work with on a constant basis. Please let me know if you need that in our initial discussion. Also, I know a few florists too if you need a background.
Do you do videos?
No, but I know 3 videographers who I can recommend. I will do reels and tik tok videos but nothing like a big production.
How do you accept payments?
I don’t have cash app. I’m wary of all the rest but I will do Venmo and PayPal if it’s a quick shoot that you need pictures for right away. Other than that I prefer to send you an invoice and you can pay with your card.
I need photos for something in 24 hours can you edit that quick?
I can if we talking more money lol
Cancellation policy?
No policy just let me know. Things come up and I get that. I am very understanding and we can always reschedule or even move the shoot somewhere else. I am not that type of photographer. I’m very down to earth just talk to me that’s all I ask.
What if I get my pictures and I don’t like them? Will you refund my money?
If I don’t like the pictures I won’t even charge you. I’m picky about my pictures ask my clients. I will reshoot you for free if I feel something is off. With that being said if I send you the photos and you pay that’s it. There will be no refund. Sorry.
