I love a good series that I can do weekly or monthly (daily if you have time but I don’t). Something that makes you stand apart and something people can look forward to once a week. I started one on my tshirt website called the Gullah Porch. It’s where I share some wisdom, shout out a small business, and answer questions people ask me all the time. It’s a fun series that I do every Friday and it’s fun and quick. Nothing fancy, nothing that takes a lot of work, and best of all it keeps people on my website because they always want to see what I’m sharing. So you have a brand and want to start a weekly series. Here are some fun ideas you can steal from me.
BTW I need to start one for this website since I’m a mom over 40 with teens who don’t want to be featured and I do photography. Here are some ideas I’ve come up with for myself.
- Weekly TV date – I watch a lot of movies (and tv shows) I can take a pic of me watching this said show and give my take on it. Something like the weekend watch does on TikTok but make it my own.
- Snapshots around town – Again this brings the photography part of me to life and I can do it where I share 3 photos a week that I took (kind of like street photography) and share my thought process on why I took the picture. This one would be kind of boring so I don’t know if people would want to see this but it’s fun.
- Read with me – I love reading and I can take a picture of a book I’m currently reading and highlight some of my thoughts and favorite qoutes out of that book but I don’t read books to do this weekly I would have to do this monthly but if you read a lot you can.
- Teenage wisdom Wed. – give my thoughts on raising these teens who are turning into adults. They won’t want their pics taken, but maybe I could get them from behind or take a pic of their hands or something (not their face) and write down something I learned as a mom of teens for the week. (I like this idea because not enough folks talk about the teen years or the young adult years for me)
Those are just a few ideas that I can use here are some for you.
- Sunday reset – Every Sunday, document your day
- Drink with me – Drink something and give a quick tip with a voice-over
- Pin with me – Pick something from pinterest and recreate it. A recipe, an outfit, a picture
- New recipe a week – Pick a cookbook and document yourself trying that recipe and if you are an introvert like me you can do a voice over
- Small town series – represent your small town. Atlanta is huge but maybe try a smaller town like Snellville or Conyers. Go around and try new spots to eat or even do interview with random folks around town.
- If these walls could talk – a funny one for realtors where you do a home tour and let the home speak…odd features, playful confessions, something that would make people want to move in
- Healthy swap or buy of the week – great for people who want to switch their food options for a healthier lifestyle. Pick an item and do a swap for it bonus if you can taste test it too and give people a feel for how it tastes different.
- The story behind – if you have a product share a quick story about it. Make up one if you have too, but be engaging.
- Get unready with me – I love the GRWM videos but do the opposite and show people how you wind down for the day to get into bed

Hi Kita-
I have been wanting to do a series on something I enjoy but I have not found the right subject yet for me. But after reading some of your ideas, I am wanting to flush out a series about productivity and planners. Not sure what angle I will take but at least you triggered an idea I can start with.
Thanks for your continued sharing on your newsletter. I have found many new people, ideas and products by reading your newsletter faithfully each week.
Have a good Sunday.

> Damita Miller-ShanklinNo problem I like that someone does one and she does a productivity and plan day once week on her tik tok if I find it I’ll send it you.

These are all such great ideas! I’m going to try to come up with something during this shutdown!
