Hello Kita: Let’s talk Voting

Welcome back to Hello, Kita. Let’s talk voting. I didn’t vote for the first time until Obama’s Second term (I was in my 30s). Never even registered to vote. Didn’t care enough because growing up in the south some of us are conditioned to not vote because our votes don’t matter. They will put who they want in office anyway so why bother. My family was never a voting family. My mom never voted and I only saw my Aunt go once. It wasn’t drilled into me and it wasn’t required of me. I barely knew who the mayor was and only kept up with who the president was. Never followed the Senate or the House or any local politicians. Didn’t even bother to look anything up because I was always under the assumption that hell people in power do what they want I need to worry about myself.

When President Obama started running I laughed. They aren’t going to let a black man run this country (yes I know he is mixed). I didn’t even bother to follow along with his campaign because I didn’t believe he would win. Until he did……that is when my eyes opened. Wait a min…the most racist country let a black man be the president? At first I thought what’s the catch…growing up in the south I’m used to racism so there has to be a catch. I started studying about politics. Learning who was what. Who were the key players in my state and who were the major people in the city I lived in. I did my homework and I decided that from then on I was going to vote. I will break the generational curse that had been going on in my family for years and vote. I have voted ever since. Now I have to get my son to do the same becuase if I’m being honest he doesn’t care. I have to make him understand the importance but I also have to understand that I was also him at his age so I have to chose my words carefully. As of now I have voted but he hasn’t so I am trying to get someone else to talk to him because sometimes kids listen to others and don’t listen to you.

Voting allows me to talk shat. If you didn’t vote then don’t complain if things don’t go your way. I do know a few people who aren’t voting and they have their own reasons and that’s up to them. You can’t make people vote but I think the biggest issue that I see is that a lot of people don’t vote. That’s the problem here in the south I know because I was a part of the problem. We can be a democratic state but there are a lot of people who simply just don’t vote. I know about 15…..and that’s just who I know. Whatever the outcomes of the election I hope you know that you have part in it even if you don’t think you do.

Google trends. Go to google post in the search what’s trending now in google trends. Find a category that you want and then write a blog post, newsletter, or focus a business on that. Thank me later

I had a will a while back and now that my kids are almost adults it was time to refresh it. My son has shown me that he is not responsible as of now so I am putting parameters in place for him. It’s sad that I have to do this. He can still change but for now I have to protect what I worked hard for. My son goes through money and has no concept of it. To get paid on a Monday and your entire check is gone by 5pm that evening and you have no real bills is ridiculous. I have taught him and his sister…his sister gets it he doesn’t so things need to be changed.

We can raise these kids and do our best but at the end of the day we can’t expect them to be what we want them to be they will be who they are as an adult and we have to accept that. Love them but also know your children and treat them like the adult they choose to be.

I teach my kids about money (as much as I know) and they know how to read. People are like whats wrong with y’all parents and the kids these days. These kids are taught they just don’t want to take the teachings. Don’t blame us blame somebody else. They can read they choose not to. My son can do a better job of holding on to his money he choose not to.

Speaking of money. This second half of my semester is kicking my ass. I don’t know if I will pass this economics class. Funny thing is I failed it in undergrad also. Economics and Finance were my two worse subjects in college. I actually passed the math class more than the Economics class. I just don’t understand the concepts and the formulas. I am asking google gemini to break it down to me like a 12 year old and so far that has been working.

I threw away all but one of my stanleys lol. I just never really liked them. My job sent me 1 and I bought 2 a whle back but I’m a brumate girl. I can throw it in the car anywhere and it don’t leak.

Homecoming for my daughter is this weekend. We didn’t buy a dress and I’m not paying for her hair to get done. We used a dress we already had from a couple of years ago got it tailored and cut and boom. She is wearing shoes she already had and she will do her own hair. I will pay for makeup but that’s about it. We will go all out for her senior prom which happens to be on her birthday.

On the same day as Homecoming I have a black and white Gala to attend. I have to put on a dress. I don’t wear dresses. I look horrible in them. I think it’s because of how my body is porportioned. I have big ass titties and I’m short and my legs look stubby. I was trying to find a pants suit but coudn’t find one so I am wearing a dress. There will be no pictures but hey I’m going that’s all I can muster for now. I also had to buy some shoes because the girl and I wear the same size and she is wearing her black heels and I needed one. I bought this one it’s actually very comfortable. I own maybe 2 pairs of heels that collect dust for the most part.
